How to become an inspiration to others?
I have heard people around me saying “My father is my greatest inspiration because he always supports in what I want to do”, someone who adore their sibling say “My elder brother is my inspiration because he always stands by me as a protector”, or those that look up to their favorite celebrity as their idol may say “Since I love football, Christiana Ronaldo inspires me to make it big in this sport.” At every point of life, likely or unlikely, all of us look to someone for inspiration, whom we follow for every aspect of our life.
As these few people continue to inspire you, why not you become an inspiration for others? Why don’t you develop those certain qualities in you that those around you make you an inspiration for whatever they do in their lives? There are steps you can take to awaken these same qualities in yourself. Look below how:
Stick With What You Love
Look into yourself and identify the behaviors that you love following. If you love to do something dearly, you would not care how successful you are at inspiring others and you will continue to persist on many levels no matter how many times you fail. If people laugh at you, or even doubt you, you won’t stop to get to what you love! Having that depth, love and passion for something will protect you from all the upcoming failures. One has to always remember that nothing can be reached without failing, and nothing can be achieved without some lessons learned. The more you fall, the higher you rise! Use this passion even if you don’t succeed at first.
Think Big and Noble
Start thinking big when you finally establish a foundation for which you have a huge passion. How can you inspire with the expertise you have? Are there ways you can expand your contacts? Aim not for becoming a source of inspiration for one, but hundreds out there! Share your ideas with as many people as possible and allow them grow your influence beyond your initial ideas for inspiration.
Thinking big does not only mean inspiring more people, but also about the impact you have on each person. Don’t settle on making minor changes in a person’s life if they need a total makeover. Instead, aim to change everything. Keep a positive thinking and this will give you a much better chance of leaving some kind of impression. If you promote a hundred ways for someone to change or heal and they take on just one, you have still helped them!
Be Expressive
This is one of the most important factor which will help you in becoming an inspiration for others. You must be passionate about the willingness to express publically for a particular topic or cause that is in your interest and this can gain you a lot of support. Some people might take time to understand what is the topic that moves you, whereas some of you may be in the eyes of the public already because they are clear about what you wish to do. Your nature of being expressive must drive people to inspire you as much as they can!
Keep an Open Door
Let everyone talk to you. You must openly invite people to everything you encounter. Personally welcome others, and listen to their needs. Maintain a healthy form of communication by keeping them involved with your passion.
Practice What You Preach
Active involvement in the field in which you intend to inspire others is the key element. An old saying “practice what you preach” is a very useful tip. Anything you wish to do to inspire others should be the biggest aim of your life right now. You do not need to be an expert in it, but your passion towards it must be the highlighting point.
Offer a Guided Hand
The best part of inspiring others is to have interest in not only what you do, but also to recognize your followers and have an opportunity to see them grow and change as well. Share your personal stories, teach them those things that you have learned along the way, talk about the risings of success through turns of failures, and ask them questions about their own progress. Help them in avoiding mistakes you yourself made in the past, and always maintain a positive outlook on their further progress.
Be Consistent
Being dependant on your own actions, information and moral standards is a key part in attaining what you aim to do. Avoid changing your attitudes, interest and the field of inspiration constantly, as this will lead to minor success. A big plan and the “one” major idea is what people intend to see from you. Instead of following your changing directions and thoughts, they would love to follow your one idea and associate their ideas with the big plan you have decided about.
Stay Positive
As I mentioned before, nothing can be achieved without failures and challenges. To get past this, you must stay positive, work on past failures, and present the future openly no matter what the circumstances are. Doubt is a very infectious disease, and if you show any of it, you can easily destroy the positive influence you have initially brought in a person.
Nothing is simple, but neither it is impossible. The word “impossible” says “I-Am-Possible.” If you start your mission of inspiring the ones around you with an interest or a noble cause, you may end up somewhere big one or two years from now. Whatever you have in your mind, go for it and if you think you can create something big out of it, then don’t sit and watch. There is lots to do, and you need lots of struggle, but if you have the faith, you will be able to achieve it.. JUST GO FOR IT …
