Foster The People's Fink, Foster and Pontius (From left to right)
This L.A. Trio was founded in 2009 when Vocalist Mark Foster met Bassist Cubbie Fink and Drummer Mark Pontius, after his struggle as a musician for many years. After releasing “Torches“, their debut album, “Pumped Up Kicks” became a hit on radio stations all over the world, made it on all sorts of music charts such as Billboard, Adult Top 40 and Mainstream Top 40. This eventually lead them to receiving 2 Grammy nominations for the album and their song.
Foster The People's Debut Album "Torches"
All song lyrics are written by Foster, and some are with the help of award-winning songwriters. However, some songs are filled with moody, unusual and, conflicting and emotive lyrics that happen to have a lot of meaning behind them, making this album worthy of listening to.
All this has proven that music genres like indie-rock, alternative and psych- disco/pop can be successfully juggled to create an album like this one, guaranteeing you to listen to every song on this album with a different perspective.
I recommend you listen to “Helena Beat”, “Life on The Nickel” and “Houdini”.
Here’s the famous song from the band.. give it a listen..
